"Recorded both before and after the death of a friend and collaborator, the US singer-songwriter's new album feels as though it sits outside time and space ... Sufjan Stevens' Carrie & Lowell is perhaps the closest comparison in terms of musical and emotional tenor, but Byrne's album is ultimately as singular as the woman singing it, and as unforgettable as a departed friend".

"After the album closes with a hushed piano ode to letting go ("Death Is the Diamond," one of a handful of songs here that evidence Byrne writing on piano for the first time), listeners can only hope that she doesn't go another six years between albums".

"Best New Music" - "Completed after the death of her producer, collaborator, and close friend, the New York singer-songwriter's album envisions mourning as a form of meditative practice and constant renewal".

"'The Greater Wings' er Byrnes første siden 'Not Even Happiness' fra 2016.
