"Tomorrow Is My Turn [arrives] hot on the heels of Lost on the River - The New Basement Tapes (the Burnett-produced Dylan lyrics album (...)) which catapulted the Carolina Chocolate Drops co-founder on to every major TV chat show in America. Here, Giddens interprets songs immortalised by iconic American women singers ... With a supporting cast of 23 musicians and singers (...) this is more "mainstream" than anything she's recorded previously. However, these things are relative (...) and the inclusion of songs sourced from Libba Cotten and Sheila Kay Adams demonstrates her continuing commitment to the tradition. Tomorrow Is My Turn will undoubtedly enhance Rhiannon Giddens' reputation as a solo artist and serves as a terrific statement of where, as an artist, she's come from".
