"[Darcel] Wilson's style, rooted in gospel, carries echoes of Aretha Franklin ... She's confident on more straight-ahead blues and jump blues as well ... [Thornetta] Davis, probably the more nuanced of the two, is her usual smooth-yet-brawny self, supple and emotionally rich, capable of everything from full-bore testifying to flirtatious impishness as the occasion demands ... she also proves herself a more than capable pop balladeer ... If there's a drawback to this set, it's that these versatile stylists have too few opportunities to showcase the full range of their gifts ... Nonetheless, what's here is solid and often exemplary - more than satisfying on its own, and a tantalizing glimpse of two vocalists who merit much wider recognition".
