"World album of the month" - "Fatoumata Diawara established her reputation as one of the finest, most inventive female singers in Mali on the strength of her remarkable debut album, , recorded seven years ago ... Her voice is more soulful and expressive than on her debut, and the songs range from cool, melodic Afro-pop to the gently bluesy Mama, the stomping funk of Negue Negue, and the charming acoustic guitar and cello duet that ends the set. It may be aimed at the international crossover market, but even at its most commercial this is an album that succeeds".

"Førstesinglen »Nterini« fra hendes dejlige danselystne andet album Fenfo, der udkom sidste år [2018], er en kommentar til verdenssamfundets håndtering af mennesker på flugt".

"She performs in Bambara, her native tongue, but her passion and sincerity bring the songs to life for listeners of all backgrounds. Her remarkable vocal flights and improvisational guitar playing are as stirring in a studio setting as at performances".

"While her voice is most definitely strong and she puts on a fine live show, i've remained something of an agonostic when it comes to Fatoumata. There always seemed something a little bit too calculated, a little bit too 'African music for colour supplement readers' about her schtick for my tastes. Up until now that is. Because on this new album, everything just seems to click into place. So, what's gone right? Well the songs are strong and varied ... But it's Diawara's voice that really wins it for me. Singing mostly in Bambara, she sounds husky, passionate, still very flexible, but most of all comfortable, assured and in control".
