"Big Joanie indentify as black feminist punks, their three members (...) using the group as a safe space to explore issues surrounding race, gender and injustice through lo-fi art pop that builds on such alt-rock touchstones as Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney and Hüsker Dü ...
