"The heyday of the Primitives didn't last very long, but the foursome released some of the brightest, shiniest guitar pop to hit the airwaves in the mid- to late '80s. Their singles and albums have been repackaged and reissued many times since their demise in the early '90s; Bloom! is the first time all their albums, singles, BBC sessions, and rarities have been brought together in one place ... Bloom! serves as a strong reminder that the sound of noisy guitars, bright vocals, and extremely hooky melodies never gets old, especially when it's done with the high levels of skill and class that the Primitives always displayed".

"Adding the missing-in-action Pue (1989) to recently expanded reissues of the Primitives' pre-reunion discography - the jangly generation's own Parallel Lines that is their 1988 debut album Lovely, and the "good in a curate's egg way" swansong Galore (1991) - this box set also takes much of the early recordings previously presented on the Everything's Shining Bright set".
