"The artist's full-length debut is an honest step forward, but emotional vulnerability can't save it from the clichés of confessional songwriting ... Good Riddance is, in a word, nice. But there are plenty of other diaristic artists, ones whose music displays a certain sense of individuality: Consider Mitski's poetic disaffection, [Olivia] Rodrigo's playful angst, or [Phoebe] Bridgers' acute melancholy ... As of now, it's a bit difficult to see what sets Abrams apart from the rest".

"Sad girl pop has a new queen ... 'Good Riddance' is a deeply confessional offering with decadent melodies and production that platform her distinctive vocal ... Working alongside The National's Aaron Dessner, whom she previously worked with on 2021 project 'This Is What It Feels Like', we hear elements of alternative folk blended with playful electronics ... Although she sings as though she's trying to heal deep wounds, it feels like Gracie Abrams has created a space to heal on her debut record".

"The 23-year-old addresses the trials of squaring love with life on the road on her moving and contemplative debut".
