"Certainly, Hail to the Kings! is an enthusiastic celebration of Chicago blues in all of its electric forms. Wilson gets to duet with Shemekia Copeland on the bawdy "The Wine Talkin'," the group revives Jimmy Reed's "I'm the Man Down There," they descend into a slow groove on "Sugar Daddy," and offer several hyper-charged shuffles. The interplay is elastic and gritty, as is the sound of the record; maybe the surface is crystal clear, but the levels are still happily pushed into the red".

"Recorded in Chicago the band continues to refine their mix of original Chicago Blues and Memphis rockabilly. As songwriters Nosek and Wilson continue to improve ... Flynn's masterful guitar playing combines well with Nosek's harmonica and Kanehira's keyboards, as the rhythm section attacks each song with authority. Living Blues Magazine declared the Kings "one of the best blues bands in the land" and the proof is in the pudding. Look for The Cash Box Kings to receive yet another "Band" nomination in 2020".

"Hail to the Kings! will brighten any party and keep the dance floor crowded ... Many of the tunes are 12-bar blues or classic R&B, on which the band rarely slows down --- Hail to the Kings! is the band's tenth release, several of which have led to Blues Music Awards nominations, including two for Best Band. This one may get them over the top in that category".

"Watson was a founding member of the Mighty Flyers, spending ten years with them and another ten with Canned Heat ... Watson doesn't dominate on this release, giving the other musicians lots of room. Sax Gordon, on saxophone, provides a necessary punch, while Jim Pugh on keyboards is impeccable".
