"Larkin Poe bring their YouTube beloved cover series to album life on Kindred Spirits, a collection of stripped-down covers recorded in four days ... For fans who haven't heard Poe like this, Kindred Spirits is a fun treat. For those of us a bit more obsessed with their YouTube channel ... it's familiar but still enjoyable. Especially if you go back to compare older covers to recorded ones".

"Inventive, oak-smoked treatments of popular favourites: There's something about the slide guitar that can lend a widescreen, dusky vibe to any song. So when this bluesy, rootsy Georgia duo use it liberally on a diverse set of covers, they're already onto a winner, pulling off an atmospheric delta makeover of "In The Air Tonight" and a lonely western soundtrack reimagining of "Nights In White Satin" ... A captivating minor-chord rewrite of Elvin' "You're the Devil In Disguise" brings out new light and shade, while "Rockin' In The Free World" slows Neil Young's anthem down to beautifully highlight its battered determination".
