"... it's possible (...) that some followers of the group, dating back to the Syd Barrett's tenure with the group or the era just prior to Dark Side may even harbor some reservations with this unit's approach to the iconic Brits' heritage. But the fact is, the band that calls itself Saucer Full of Secrets is doing a great service to the overall legacy of the fabled group by breathing life into this music through its own enthusiasm and imagination".

"So right away in hearing the 1967-1972 material live with a new line-up we can hear and feel (and see, if you get the DVD) that Mason can still play all of this stuff. He's happy driving the band. He's paying tribute to fallen soldier Barrett and to the spirit of the band in its oddly "forgotten" years ... This is a brilliant, vital set of songs from a just slick-enough unit. I'm way more into this than I ever might have dreamed".

"This summer 2019 concert by Floyd-drummer Nick Mason's ensemble celebrates their psychedelic, pre-"Dark Side..." days ... Moonlighting Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kemp and Floyd bassist Guy Pratt share vocals, repurposing "Lucifer Sam" as herky-jerky new wave (...) - less 1967, more 1977 - and "The Nile Song" as gonzo, amps-at-11 heavy metal. There are courageous stabs at Syd Barrett's "Vegetable Man", the neo-classical knees-up "Atom Heart Mother" and a shimmering version of "Obscured By Clouds". By not trying to faithfully reproduce the originals down to every last tom-tom roll, the material has room to breathe. Best of all, everyone involved sounds like their having the time of their lives. An angst-free Pink Floyd: who'd have thought it?".
