"It's good to know that the inventors of Afro-rock are back with a new line-up and making such joyous music. None of the trio who arrived from Ghana in the late 1960s and enjoyed hits such as 'Sunshine Day' and 'Dance the Body Music' are still in the line-up, but the Trinidadian keyboard player Robert Bailey survives (...), and founder and main man Teddy Osei remains Osibisa's musical director and guiding spirit ... Last year Osei reformed Osibisa with a new nine-piece line-up that includes veteran member Gregg Kofi Brown (...), [two female singers], the great Ghanaian guitarist Alfred Kari Bannerman and a mostly Ghanaian horn section ... [Some tracks] hark back to Osibisa's original Afrorock sound, and 'No Fit 4 Street' is a righteous, Fela-like Afrobeat workout. 'Lift Your Head Up' is a James Brown-influenced slice of Afro-funk, there's a slinky Latin-jazz feel with a touch of tango on `Wake Up', while `Dark Matter' and `Yen Kita Yen Sa' coast on a smooth Afro-soul vibe. Welcome back".
