"Stone's La Nénuphar has a restrained Spector-styled arrangement, while Delphine's Les Prisons De Sa Majesté has a pop-psych feel featuring some extensive sitar. Zouzou's two tracks are rooted in folk-rock, delivered with her heroine Marianne Faithful in mind, while Charlotte Walters' Angel Of Sin has almost whispered sections. Other French girlie heroines include Brigitte Bardot, France Gall, Annie Philippe, Véronique Sanson and, as if to show all is well with the compilation, the wonderful Françoise Hardy".
