"Da jeg først hørte 'Vital' var jeg ikke i tvivl om, at denne plade måtte bredes ud til andre lyttere. Den tilstand, den satte mig i, var spektakulær. Dens bittersøde melankolske anstrøg, det evigt rumlende lydlag, den spinkle og gennemtrængende vokal og det sært opløftende ved den nedslående musik var nær enestående, og jeg vidste, jeg måtte anmelde ... 'Vital' er et værk. Det giver ikke mening at pille den fra hinanden. Hvert enkelt element eksisterer i samspillet med de andre. Det kan siges om mange plader, men i dette tilfælde er resultatet langt mere end summen af dens dele".
