"In this performance every cross-hatched, baleful figure is crisp and clear ... Veronique Gens's submissive, poised Iphigénie [en Aulide] becomes Mireille Delunsch's red-eyed, hysterical Iphigénie en Tauride ... Both sopranos sing magnificently despite Audi's over-stylised movement direction ... Mezzo Anne Sofie von Otter's touching Clytemnestra, tenor Frédéric Antoun's boyish Achille (on Aulis), and barytone Jean-François Lapointe's Oreste and the pangent semi-chorus of Priestesses (on Tauris) provide stylish vocal support".

"Gluck's two Iphigénies have been virtually ignored on DVD ... Aulide principals are glorious, above all Véronique Gens ... Tauride is equally simply staged ... In Tauride there's more pale singing from Haller's Diana ... On the other hand, ... (Oreste) and ... (Pylade) are in every way outstanding ... As always, the Amsterdam choristers sound terrific ... Les Musiciens du Louvre under Minkowski provide flawless tone".

"Vurdering: Gramophone choice" - "Anne Sofie von Otter ... presents a deeply sympathetic character ... Véronique Gens's Iphigenia is equally touching and just as beautifully sung ... One or two [production] oddities are far outweighed by the intensity of the acting that Pierre Audi secures from his team. Minkowski conducts superbly. Buy this wonderful set".
