"Paracosm is a document of someone who sounds satisfied with his place in life, and that can understandably drive people nuts. There's plenty of art responsible for describing and inducing vertiginous highs and lows, and Paracosm is more than happy to soundtrack the satisfying moments that seek you out instead of the other way around, effectively triggering the kind of subtle joys that course through you without warning - manageable contentment, sustainable romance".

"Det lydmæssige udtryk på Paracosm er forbløffende konsistent. På trods af at Greene på mange måder er trådt ud af skyggen på det modefænomen, som chillwave-genren bestemt var, er udtrykket stadig sky-let og forbløffende tro mod Washed Outs tidligere produktione".

""Chillwave", the genre with which Washed Out, or Ernest Greene, is synonymous, was always a tongue-in-cheek name but this remains non-ironic music about nothing more interesting than vague good vibes ("Weekend's almost here now/ It's getting warmer outside"). Weightless, for example, feels just that: a pleasant sensation, but it makes you long for some ballast to alleviate the boredom".
