"Portuguese-Brazilian pianist Maria-João Pires is a lifelong Mozart specialist, but she still has new things to say in two of Mozart's most popular piano concertos".

"The conducting is intelligently alive ... Pires enters into the prevailing mood, her artistry as thougthful as of yore ... Pires shows that expressive sensitivity isn't confined to a slow tempo ... Reduced forces might have enhanced the concerto's intimate character. It's a small point. These absorbing, penetrating performances deserve the widest currency".

"The present Mozart recording is so uniformly excellent that it is rather hard to find the right words to express my reactions to it ... From the first moment the performance has a quality that characterizes the entire recording: a perfect balance between musical, textural and rhythmic precision and all of the mood and atmosphere that the music requires".

"The performance by Andreas Staier and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra under Gottfried von der Goltz actually brings out more drama in the score than many interpreters find in it ... The recorded quality is high, with natural balance and pleasing perspective".
