"An Alentejo region native, António Xambujo is a tenor and conservatory-trained clarinetist and guitarist whose fado reflects no only a certain feel for jazz and choro, but equally vital, the rural influence of canto alentejano. Indeed, to striking effect, he occasionally integrates the resonant a cappella harmonies of the traditional Alentejo male chorus into his recordings, as on the closing track, "O Que É Feito Dela?" ... The warmth and poignancy of his vocal style draws the listener forth with all the inducement of classic fado, but in a fresh and wholly contemporary setting. "Quinto" confirms the emergence of a singular voice".
