"Digby hat vor vier Jahren die "Ora Singers" gegründet ... Sie kombiniert Renaissancewerke mit zeitgenössischen Chorstücken, die sie bei unterschiedlichsten Komponisten in Auftrag gibt. Auf dem neuesten Album des Vokalensembles gibt es ein geradezu spektakuläres Zusammentreffen. Die 40-stimmige Motette "Spem in alium" von Thomas Tallis spiegelt sich in einer ebenso riesig besetzten Komposition des schottischen Komponisten James MacMillan wider. Dieser Plan geht sehr gut auf, dank der hohen Gesangskultur der Ora Singers und der respektvollen Neukomposition ... Grosse vokale Momente ergeben sich aber auch in den anderen Motetten der CD".

It shares some characteristics with the Tallis, though is by no means a mere imitation ... Without the polished tones of the ORA Singers this luminous, ecstatic sound would be impossible. The sopranos are particularly impressive ... The group's ensemble, too, remains flawless even during the music's busiest moments".
