"How To Dress Well har lavet et rigtigt album med sange, der trænger til hinanden, som unge elskende trænger til nærhed i krop, sjæl, tanke og sociale medier. The Anteroom er som nogle af de bedste plader en færd ind i et dragende bekvemt rum uden vægge og loft. Der er blot et dansegulv indhyllet i mørke, og her kan man svaje alene til "I was a fool, soul in total decline, it was brutal"".

"Tom Krell has always used noise evocatively, hiding and revealing How to Dress Well's songs with clouds of reverb and distortion to greater and lesser degrees on each album. He follows the relatively crystalline Care with The Anteroom, which brings the experimental side of his music to the fore in a way that hasn't been heard since HTDW's earliest days ... by revisiting his noise-drenched past with the experience he's gained since then, he delivers an album that's just as impressionistic as his early work, and possibly even more adventurous".

"Tom Krell's latest album of ambient R&B club music feels both reverent and relevant, with icy textures and knotty lyrics that leave plenty to untangle".
