"Ringo gives the near-title track "Zoom In Zoom Out" a contemporary spin, writing the novelty ode to telecommunications this era needed, yet most of Zoom In could've easily fit on any record he's made since Ringo 2012, if not Liverpool 8. Consistency is a virtue in this case: maybe Starr does little more than deliver what he promises, but he does deliver, and that reliability is a comfort in times of uncertainty".

"Well-meaning and positive, `Zoom In' is the aural equivalent of wishing somebody a 'Happy Hump Day!' over email, while wearing a daft grin. For all its flaws, this is a hard record to hate. It's also nice to hear that, instead of moaning about being caged in a massive mansion, this celebrity is focusing on lifting the rest of us up instead".

"Okay, Ringo hasn't made his masterpiece, but then again, a guilty pleasure can be worth savoring in itself. As most of his Starr-struck admirers generally conclude, it can be rewarding to zoom in albeit momentarily, rather than opting to completely tune out".
