"Det er ikke alt, der er lige interessant på den aktuelle samling af B-sider og øvrige rariteter fra Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, men der er en iørefaldende umiddelbarhed over en række af sangene, som fremstår mindre producerede end mere kendte dele af kataloget, og selv her fremstår den 64-årige Nick Caves sangskrivning langt mere overbevisende, end den gør hos størstedelen af hans yngre kolleger i rockbranchen. Fans kan roligt tjekke ind her".

"Part II is a vital addition to the autumnal period in Cave's songwriting, beginning with a hesitant attempt at "Skeleton Tree" from 2006 ("Jesus was a liar and a thief", Cave suggests). The final side in both versions offers a full album of unreleased material, all of it vital. In Cave's more recent writing, [Warren] Ellis's experimental flourishes flicker and fizz beneath behind the singer's painful ruminations ..,. The highlight is "Life Per Se", a heavily freighted prayer of pain in which hope endures, just about".

"It is [Warren] Ellis who curated "Part II" of 'B-sides And Rarities' alongside Cave, moving the story on from 2008's hectic 'Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!' There are still curiosities - Cave and Debbie Harry covering Jeffrey Lee Pierce's weary 'Free To Walk", 2006's 'Grinderman'-era casualty "Vortex", excellent B-side "Hey Little Firing Squad" - but the record divides with a stately live version of "Push The Sky Away", performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. What follows is a rich, revelatory selection of tracks from and around 2016's 'Skeleton Tree' and 2019's 'Ghosteen', records profoundly shaped by grief".
