"Bottomless Pit will clearly not be for all hip-hop or punk fans, but it is impossible to deny that this album, just like the rest of the duo's catalog, is doing a much-needed service to both genres by experimenting with them in unimaginable ways. It fuses the rebelliousness and enraged ethos of punk acts like Dead Kennedys and Sex Pistols with the intricate lyricism and flow of hip-hop acts like Old Dirty Bastard; if that doesn't make a music fan salivate with excitement, then they weren't really one to begin with".

"On their new album Bottomless Pit, Death Grips stitch together one of their most cohesive grotesques, renewing their focus on songcraft ... It might not win them new fans, but "new fans" have never been an integral part of the Death Grips experience: You're either in or you're out. If you're in, you will probably grin wider than you have through any Death Grips album in years".

"Before this release, much of their following consistently seemed to agree that their best to date was their debut LP, The Money Store. This is almost a return to that point in their career, taking that formula and turning it up to beyond 11. Everything sounds so precise, crisp, hard-hitting, and indomitable. For that exact reason, Bottomless Pit is an ideal effort for longtime fans and newcomers alike. Needless to say, whatever the type of listener, it won't be forgotten".
