"'Day-Glo (based On A True Story)' skal ikke betragtes som et nyt studiealbum, men derimod som moduleringer over numre fra det seneste værk, 'The Neon' (2020). Maskinmester Vince Clarke sampler kollegaens, Andy Bells, vokal, og lydkollagerne er sine steder ganske delikate, men sangmæssigt er der godt nok langt op til materialet fra mesterværkerne".
