"Baird's voice sounds as potent and icy-clear as ever. As evidenced by her work with Espers and the Baird Sisters, her voice is well-suited to close-harmony singing, and here she makes frequent use of vocal multi-tracking, adding whispery harmonies at what sounds like the upper limits of her register. In combination with the casual jammy vibe on some of the instrumental passages, these airy harmonies recall some of the folkier aspects of Popol Vuh".

"Stepping into Meg Baird's world is like being lost in a medieval forest, a surreal place where ancient English ballads are sweetened and deepened with Appalachian mountain dulcimer and Laurel Canyon guitar. Nothing here is hurried; there's an old time folk mood of contemplation that's still supple and new ... Things can get twee - but this feels like atiny church in that forest, sacred and touching".
