Record collector511 (2020 November)afafJ. R. Moores511 (2020 November)"Hen Ogledd began as a partnership between harpist Rhodri Davies and folk musician Richard Dawson. Avant-garde at first, the project now features Sally Pilkington and Dawn Bothwell and specialises in wonky pop music with references ranging from Gaia Theory to Hildegard Von Bingen. Lead single "Trouble" is an outright banger, made all the more magnificent by Bothwell's pronounced Scottish vowels. "Crimson Star" sounds like Dawson is fornting an alien synth band. "Space Golf" banishes Donald Trump from our planet like he's General Zod in 'Superman II'. Fans of weirder material will enjoy the accompanying twinkly jazz chants and bizarre guest spot from the Loch Ness Monster".
