"Et gustent, uhelbredeligt sygt soundtrack præget af lige dele Throbbing Gristle, tonekunst og udefinerbare hilsener til J-pop, IDM og roots-country. Det mest rytmiske, Xiu Xiu nogensinde har lavet ... Bedst, som du tror du er i et gradbøjet virvar af postindustrielle rytmer, sporadiske synth-stik og Jamie Stewarts karismatisk dadaistiske digtoplæsning (...) skydes man ud i et krumspring af John Cale'ske violaer og grumsede, uhyggelige vokalsamples. Til sidst fandt jeg mig selv fanget i en af sidedørene i den dystre, uhyggelige labyrint af kalkuleret sindssyge, som er Girl With Basket of Fruit. Uden nogen flugtveje. Og jeg elskede det!".

"Xiu Xiu feel like a band readymade for these times. The issues that have been on their lips for decades-blind nationalism, religious servility, reproductive rights, personal freedom, human fairness-now ripple through the pieces of this ripped international landscape. But Stewart and Seo turn inward and insular here, smearing themselves in a camouflage of inside jokes and outlandish images. They blend in with the din, adding to it".
