"The measured, easygoing pace of these songs is often at odds with Clarke's lyrics - particularly on Slender, Sad & Sentimental, which is practically rambunctious indiepop akin to The Sundays, and My Love Gave Me an Apple, which is as sweetly sung as they come. It's an intriguing listen, but an often uncomfortable one, too".

"Each song is special - simple yet full of depth. Clarke's songwriting conjures darkly beautiful imagery; her voice as heart-breaking as it is soothing, and melancholic to its core. 'If I Didn't Mind' explores the mindset of a person trapped in a passive-aggressive and emotionally manipulative relationship. Despite the serious subject matter, the song is irresistible, setting Clarke's pure folk vocals against fuzzy indie-rock instrumentals".

"Much as I have enjoyed Josienne's previous work, In All Weather feels like a high watermark (so far) with the promise of great, and greater things to come. It's still undoubtedly folk but occupying the same landscape (or seascape?) as Nick Drake, John Martyn and Sandy Denny - music that seeps through the cracks to reach fans that would dismiss 'folk' in other circumstances. A remarkable, impeccable collection".
