"There are a lot of sterling moments on Jungle Run, even if they sometimes fail to make sense as a unit. But while parts of the album may not always work together as a whole, the band does, and that bodes well for Nubiyan Twist's genre-bending future".

""Where you from?/I'm from wherever I be", the band's main singer Nubiya Brandon declares over the title track's fusion of Future jazz and Afro soul ... This second album from the 12-piece collective (...) recognises no borders. This is best exemplified by "Addis to London", a captivating Ethio-jazz piece featuring the signature vibes of Mulatu Astatke over a bed of congas and spiritual brass. The potent "Basa Basa", a zig-zagging Afro jam featuring the shamanic Kweku Of Ghana provides another highpoint. Likewise, the liminal "Ghosts", featuring Tony Allen".
