Take, for example, the bittersweet waltz "Abandonne," sung in Louisiana French; the New Orleans march "Walking On A Mardi Gras Day," led by drummer Jim Kolacek's solid monodic pulse; and the delightful "Cajun Gypsy," an informed showdown between country and classical idioms.
