"A collection of stripped-down and unreleased tracks from the infamous folk singer's early days offers little clarity to his mercurial career, but these demos remain striking and emotional".

"1967 would prove a transformative year for Buckley, though in many ways it's hard to pick a year that wouldn't offer some kind of transformation for this questing artist. After the release of Goodbye & Hello, his horizons would open dramatically, and immersion in jazz and other musics had Buckley bobbing in a sea of sound, working toward the open-ended miasma of 1969's Happy Sad and 1970's Starsailor. For now, Lady, Give Me Your Key shows us some of the steps Buckley took, during a feverishly creative year, to pursue the totality of music".

"Along with a seven-track demo tape that sees Buckley cast around for his A- and B-sides, a further six acetate recordings here trace his steps from "Tim Buckley" towards "Goodbye And Hello" and the first hints at what he would truly become capable of. Even in these bare-bones arrangements, the songs are fully formed, particularly the likes of "Pleasant Street" and "Once I Was": as captivating as anything Buckley put to tape".

"Lady, Give Me Your Key contains expository notes by Thomas as well his in-depth interviews with Beckett and Yester. The sound is far better than acceptable considering the original sources, and the material is a true boon for Buckley's most devoted followers".

I Can't Leave You Lovin' Me«. "Lady, Give Me Your Key" er et must for enhver Buckleyconnoisseur".
