"He knows how to put a song across, and he writes songs worth hearing. But Peace Potato gives a first impression of polished surfaces that only gradually yields to the hooks. If you put in the time, they're there; this is a record that sounds richer on the fifth spin, better yet on the tenth. But it could use a little more upfront assertiveness to match its depth of detail".
