"Phase Zero, Delt's second album, seems like an appropriate title, because while he's not exactly starting over, he appears to be doing a bit of an identity reset. Having jumped from Trouble in Mind to the larger and better-serviced Sub Pop, he's jettisoned that strangeness, and in its place is a more well-realized psych-pop album, with perhaps better songwriting but less charm".

"Delt hasn't lost any of his dazed wonder, hasn't moved his operation to a big studio, didn't collaborate with anyone, and basically took what he did on the first album and gave it an extra dose or ten of sunshine. Where Morgan Delt was a little creepy and almost doomy around the edges ... Phase Zero [is] a nice step forward from his already close to perfect debut and his sound is now filled with even more summer warmth and psychedelic wonder. Lots of people are making music like this in 2016, but very few are making it this impressively".

"An undercurrent of paranoia is revealed on certain tracks, and when his songs emerge from the mist, like the bright pop of "Sun Powers," Delt's songwriting prowess shines through. Despite the druggy haze and obscured vocals, this is a humanistic album that feels like a culmination of minds, rather than the work of one person".
