"This album is a remarkable continuation of Gnoss's journey as they stretch skywards to new and exciting heights. Stretching Skyward honours and celebrates changes in different aspects of life across time, a fitting theme for an outstanding album that sees Gnoss give their distinguished style even more life".

"Gnoss's 'Stretching Skyward' is an exciting and invigorating album. Alongside an intoxicating fusion of instruments, there is a well-earned quiet confidence on show, with a soft, subtle touch of Americana filtering through the band's more traditional Scottish sound; it's an innovative, accomplished meld".

"Gnoss (like Talisk, Eriska and TRIP) are part of Glasgow's lively music scene, though the band originated in Scotland's Northern Isles ... With a talent for affecting lyrics and hooks, [singer/guitarist Aidan] Moodie's songs often draw on unusual inspirational sources such as Orkney's Viking connections ("Hamnavoe") and Scotland's travelling people ("Honey Wine") ... The occasional use of synth-strings comes across as a little dated in places but, generally, the conscious leaning towards more pop-inflected arrangements and production is successful, the shimmering electric guitars adding atmosphere. With its thoughtful blending of original songs and tunes, 'Stretching Skyward' sees Gnoss broadening their horizons".
