"Mostar is revealed here as a hotbed of traditional music, through the recruitment of a number of dazzling new musicians and singers. Anja Rikolo brings both rawness and purity to her singing of Omere Prvo Gledanje, coaxing teh band's rumble into still silence. Not that the old band have gone away: Miso Petrovic, in particular, is in masterful form on lead guitar, while the focal point of the record, rightly, is Nermin Alukic Cerkez, whose typically powerful vocals boss the assured improvisations and disturbingly febrile grooves without histrionics. Band producer, founder and all-round visionary Dragi Sestic, sees it as his duty to musically reconstruct that long lost Mostar, with all its "unbearable lightness of living". He has succeeded, in an overwhelming and surprisingly celebratory musical statement of viscid and compelling gloom, ecstatic rejection and Balkan blues".
