"Received wisdom appears to be that there's no interest in the music of Native Americans, although the arrival of a third issue of The Rough Guide to Native America rather suggests otherwise. Largely drawn from the Canyon and Arbor Records catalogues, the styles range from flute songs to pow-wow with side excursions into chicken scratch and the distinctive rez reggae of Casper Loma Da Wa. The roster of star names may look limited with R Carlos Nakai, Clan/Destine and Blackfire being the better-known, but this doesn't lessen the value and there's a bonus disc of Pura Fe".
