"I'm a fan of the band and enjoyed every album to some degree. I wasn't in the right place to appreciate this and I certainly didn't want to drill down into the pathos, but The Storm Within won me over anyway. It's better than 2014s Hymns for the Broken, and may be their strongest since The Inner Circle. If you want to feel the feels, you came to the right place. Surrender your smile at the door".

"'The Storm Within' er et ganske fint album. Men helt godt bliver det aldrig. Der er ligesom både for lidt metallisk tyngde og for lidt progressivitet til, at det bliver at regne blandt årets prog metal-album. Musikken er denne gang lige lovlig mainstream rocket til rigtigt at fænge".

"While nearly an hour long, there really isn't much filler to be heard. The front and back halves of the album are equally strong. The title track wraps up the album, an epic and cinematic song that's diverse and atmospheric, much like the album itself".
