"There are some quite substantial developments here - greater roles for individual band members (particularly Jana Carpenter, who sings lead vocals on several of the tracks), unusual and striking arrangements, a sharper pop sensibility to match the progressive overtones and a greater sense of fun and adventure ... Whenever Carpenter sings, the music seems to adopt different qualities - more reflective and melancholy perhaps - but not in an introverted way. Her tone is also brighter and more outward reaching. It is this further meeting of worlds - unforced and compelling - that makes Motorcade Amnesiacs such a successful work".

"Traditionally a quiet, introspective, weirdo folk outfit, England's Sweet Billy Pilgram, have started to open up their wings and let loose on this album. There is some electric guitar riffing on this album, but it still hangs on to the quirkiness. The result could be compared to the psychedelic rock of the Zombies or the highly literate pop music of the Triffids ... Overall the album is a wonderful listen. There is a huge amount of diversity on the record. The group feels free to play around with so many different ideas, sound and emotions".

Vurdering 4/5.
