"Oumou Sangaré har denne gang simpelthen begået en af de plader, der er uafrystelig. En stor afrikansk plade, der bør blive stående blandt de absolutte klassikere".

"Sangaré shines on a revision of 2017's 'Mogoya': To these ears, the Wassoulou-born singer has never sounded better than on "Djôrôlen", from 1996's 'Worotan', when accompanied by Nitin Sahney on Spanish guitar. So reshaping 'Mogoya' away from its dancefloor focus was always going to havé affecting results. Joined here by guitar, kamel ngoni, keyboards and two backing vocalists, Sangaré re-records the nine tracks from that album and adds two from her early 1990s sets to demonstrate continuity. Though the arrangements are superb (...), Sangaré's voice is pushed to the fore ... It's deeper and throatier now (...), but you can still hear the youthful street singer having fun on "Kamelemba" and "Mogoya"".

"Gone are the funky bass riffs, keyboards and rock guitars as the sound is pared back to her sinuous voice and the earthy throb of the traditional kamele ngoni, augmented only by a brace of backing singers and some elegantly syncopated guitar. It's by some way the finest of the three iterations of 'Mogoya'".
