"Siobhan Miller's latest, largely upbeat album sees her lithe vocals escorted by a (just occasionally overwhelming) contingent of seasoned players ... Miller delves affectionately into traditional material, revivifying hoary old standards as well as more contemporary offerings, opening with the late Andy M Stewart's Queen of Argyll. There's a lissom Cold Blows the Rainy Night, with perky accordion from Andrew Waite, a straightforward telling of The Swan Swims - a variant of the dark twa sisters ballads, and a hearty rendition of I'm a Rover".

"The singing alone of Siobhan Miller should be enough to see this album nestle in your music collection. One of the finest singers in folk music at the moment. There is the added bonus that many of these songs are well known and all benefit from the magical musical touch of Siobhan Miller and her musical companions".

"While again produced by Euan Burton and featuring many of the musicians with whom she's previously worked, among them Kris Drever, Ian Carr, Louis Abbott and Eddi Reader, there seems to be more of an immediacy and energy to her fifth album 'Bloom', possibly a reaction to shaking off the chains of lockdown ... It ends on a sublime note with a traditional evergreen, an understated, wistful reading of Wild Mountain Thyme with Kris Drever and Eddi Reader on backing and Charlie Stewart on mournful fiddle, perfectly showcasing the purity of Miller's voice without preserving it in amber. If she can continue to harness the spark, energy and spontaneity in evidence here, I'll remain a convert. A prize bloom indeed".
