"Twelfth Day's Face to Face creates a new element on the folk periodic table. There's a nice current angle to this music that embraces traditional folk, classical, jazz, and off-kilt(er) Scottish sounds ... Folk purists, "expect the unexpected' with this album".

"Twelfth Day comprises Esther Swift on pedal harp and Catriona Price on fiddle, with guest players drummer John Lawrie and double bassist Andrew Robb. The duo's high voices lead and harmonise on a distinct set of original songs that bear traces of the Incredible String Band's eccentricities of mass, trajectory and orbit, with lyrics that draw on the personal, the individual and the intimate ... Twelfth Day are eclectic in style and approach, drawing on classical, pop, folk, and their own imagistic lyricism to fashion distinct settings for songs addressing the kind of planetsized topics that dominate the current global conversation - climate change, women's rights, mental health - but in a way that's experienced, lived through, rather than didactic. You feel you're being drawn in rather than called out".
