"The 13 tracks on Growing Seeds have a tendency to blur together, all shakily held in place by Norrvide's tormented vocal bleats, always lost beneath icy waves of thin keyboard sounds. Taken song by song, the tracks are fine, if unremarkable. None of the songs are audacious enough to command attention with hooks or any discernible statements".

"Listening to it, you feel pushed beneath the surface of something: It helps that Norrvide's fingers somehow always land on an instantly memorable four-note synth riff. The carpal-tunnel drive of "Champagne", in which two rudimentary earworms bounce off each other for four minutes, hits the same nagging sweet spot as the most hypnotically driving 8-bit music".

"The charm of Growing Seeds is, in part, to be found in its naïvety. Norrvide approaches synth pop not as something that should be subverted or detourned, but wide-eyed and unjaded. His voice is often echo-treated, often partly submerged - he's no Alison Moyet, that's for sure - but his plaintive cries have a breathless, romantic yearning".
