"Back in 2006 Marc Minkowski put together an enterprising programme of ballets, dances and other instrumental numbers from Rameau's stage works and called it 'Une symphonie imaginaire' ... simply an attractive programme of instrumental numbers taken from stage works which were primarily vocal. He has now devised a successor, called simply 'Nouvelle symphonie' ... and one advance over its predecessor is that we have a few vocal numbers, sung by the baritone Florian Sempey, who is completely inside the idiom as well as being a native French speaker ... The orchestral playing is wonderful in its vitality and precision ... There is a wide variety of moods in these twenty numbers ... This deserves to have an success equal to that of Minkowski's first 'Symphonie'".

Varmt anbefalet".

"I'm sure baritone soloist Florian Sempey and conductor Marc Minkowski won't mind if I first praise the four other heroes on this disc ... These are the four bassoonists who throughout the album provide so much pleasure ... The bassoons fizzle and growl, infecting the rest of the band with florious rhythmic vivacity and dynamic bounce ... Timbre is at the heart of this album's success ... The music is as capricious as a kid in a sweetshop, and it's fun just to try and keep track of its strange turns ... The performance achieves something so diffictult in instrumental music: it is funny ... Sempey for the most part is of superb voice ... Minkowski controls a fabulously exciting string section".
