"The collaboration between two of Cape Breton's finest was always going to be worth listening out for, and their first studio recording together is decidedly special. Unlike a lot of Mary Jane Lamond's previous albums, the arrangements are entirely acoustic and suit her Gaelic vocals rather better ... Everyone involved clearly has a lot of respect for the Cape Breton/Scottish/Gaelic tradition; the careful mix of songs and tune sets, dark and light moods, and varying instrumental textures hold the attention all the way and make this one of the most enjoyable "Celtic" (if I may be so brave/bold) albums to come this way in a long time".
