<i>"Life-altering experiences are like tattoos stuck to you for life",</i> synger Jason Derulo på sit nye album, og mens "Tattoos" lyder ligeså sukkersødt og klæbrigt som Derulo's tidligere udgivelser, er der kommet nye boller på lyrikken. For Derulo er blevet fast partner med kollegaen Jordin Sparks, så når han ikke lige leger <i>player</i> som på "Dance with the lights on" med linjer som <i>"Hope you don't mind if I keep my Nikes on, right?/We could film it all on my iPhone 5",</i> besynger han tosomheden og lykken på blandt andet "Marry me". R&b-crooneren står ved en korsvej, men han kan stadig forføre det kvindelige køn.
