"For alle de medvirkende sangere ... er det tydeligvis et kærlighedsarbejde, de her er involveret i ... Man bør høre Poulencs sange. Det er rene franske delikatesser fra en komponist, der blev født og døde i januars triste lys, men som i den grad var med til at indføre klarhed og skarphed i fransk musik efter Debussy. Heldigvis om kap med sanselighed og et strejf af blød sentimentalitet".
